A CHURCH SERVING THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES OF INKSTER, MI

Amity Baptist Church has been in the Inkster, Michigan community since 1926. We started by holding Sunday School Class in the home of the late Rev. Charles Johnson. The name Amity means: Love, Harmony, Goodwill, and Friendship. The first church was a small building, By 1961, we purchased some property on Carlysle Street in the heart of Inkster where we currently meet on a regular basis.

From those small beginnings, the Lord has blessed us to add to our church an enlarged vestibule, two fellowship halls, two libraries, and a covering to the main entrance.  We are very thankful for how God has positioned us to serve the community.

You are welcome to sing along, or just observe. Afterward, our pastor will present a message from the Bible. You won’t need to be an experienced Christian or Bible scholar to understand and apply the message. As God’s living Word, we trust the Scriptures to reach you right where you are.



Our goal is for you to feel welcomed, noticed, known and loved. Everyone is greeted with a smile at the "friendly" Amity Baptist Church.  You will not be expected to stand up and introduce yourself to the congregation, we promise.

We exemplify and teach how to Love God, Love Others, Love to Serve, Love to Give, Love to Forgive, and Love Building the Kingdom of God. Our purpose is to teach sound Biblical doctrine of Christ to create a system to make disciples that makes disciples (Matt 28:19-20). Our mission is to bring glory to God, to be the ministry of today's generation, and be relevant in our community that brings hope & peace.

We, the friendly Amity Baptist Church, under God's Saving Grace, come together to worship God and give thanks for His son, Jesus who is God’s gift of love to the entire world. We preach and teach the truth as written in the Word of God, the Bible. It says clearly that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son into the world to be a sacrifice for the sin of all people (John 3.16). Jesus obeyed His Father in every way, even unto a shameful death on the Cross over 2,000 years ago.

Jesus died for us so we can escape death and judgment which is the penalty for our sins. However, His death and burial turned into the greatest miracle called Salvation. Jesus did die, but God raised Him back to life from the tomb/grave. Jesus rose with all power in His hand over sin and death to never-ending life. This greatness of God's Grace & Mercy conquered sin, death, and hell, and placed us back to Genesis 1:28 Blessing -  Be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth, subdue it, and have dominion over the earth. Now because Jesus lives, anyone who comes to Him can have life and have it more abundantly! Anyone! This good news means YOU and everyone too!
